Hello,
i know there are already some discussions about the limit but they are very old and i couldn´t really find a solution.
I am using Openfire 4.0 with Spark 2.7.5 and i would like to limit the file transfer size.
Do i have to do it in the Spark-Clients itself or is there any possibility to change central on the server?
This setting is not allowed to be changed by the users.
Thanks in advance
Jens
I am using Openfire with Spark.
I am using the latest Openfire with version 3 and 4.0.
The Spark-Clients are also the latest version.
The file-Transfer settings are enabled but there is no file-transfer-option available in Spark.
Do i have to do something else?
Where should i see in Spark if the function is available?
Thanks in advance
Jens
Hi,
I am analysing the log files of our Openfire and I am seeing very many and strange output in the warn.log. I mean VERY many lines like the following, printed very often even within one second.
The whole warn.log file is 1 GB within half an hour only with these lines (making it unusable):
Anybody knows, what this is and means? Is it harmful? Can (or should) it be suppressed?
We are running Openfire 3.10.3 with 4 Cluster nodes, Hazelcast plugin 2.1.2.

My web application uses conversejs library for chat client and Openfire 4.0.0 xmpp server. When the user login the system, I create new xmpp bosh session and return request id, session id and jabber name for prebind. If the user close active browser tab, the bosh session stay online and openfire not closed this session. I researched and changed all openfire settings about idle connection, but not working. Exp. I changed "xmpp.client.idle", "xmpp.httpbind.client.idle"(Default 30 seconds) property but not working. I want to openfire detects online session as idle and close about 2 seconds automatically. What is default time for client should anwered to openfire idle ping and how to set this property ?
Hi there,
Did an upgrade from 3 to 4.0.0 using the deb package on Ubuntu. (dpkg -i). The keystore settings have changed and the default paths for the XMPP client stores and Bosh stores are empty. This causes all ssl/tls related functionality to stop working.
Is there a property I must set? Trying to generate self signed certs in order to get the path set results in:

Hello everyone,
first of all, thanks in advance people answering this...
Where are the avatars from the client saved in the Openfire?
I am not using LDAP.
Thanks in advance
I tried with openssl s_client but it didn't display a certificate; xmpp.net IM Observatory seems to return relevant info and says the cert is good, why doesn't openssl?
-bash-4.1$ openssl s_client -connect 127.0.0.1:5222 </dev/null -starttls xmpp

xmpp.net also said :
Server uses Diffie-Hellman parameters of < 2048 bits
Does this refer to my private key?
I tried editing the java.security file and removed an earlier warning about DSA by removing that cipher, and thought I addressed the DH keySize < 2048 by adding :
jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms=SSLv3, RC4, DH keySize < 2048
jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, DSA, RSA keySize < 2048, DH keySize < 2048
but xmpp.net still says :
Server uses Diffie-Hellman parameters of < 2048 bits
I did restart Jive after editing java.security. Thanks for any help!

Good day.
I already created "openfired.vmoptions" and "openfire-service.vmoptions" under C:\Openfire\bin.
"openfire-service.vmoptions"
-Xms512m
-Xmx1024m
"openfired.vmoptions"
blank?
restart the Openfire server but nothing has change with the Java Memory size.
Did i miss something? Please help.
Thank you.
Team - I have setup openfire server 4.0 in a high configured Linux box. I open 2 SPARK applications in 2 PC in LAN and start chatting in a Group/Conference.
At initial 2-3 hours messages go to other users Spark within 1 seconds ..it goes soon after I press enter... But when time goes response time gets slower.
After 3-4 hours server online it takes over 6-8 seconds for the message to appear in other Spark windows.
But if I restart Openfire server then it again becomes very fast.
Can you please tell me what could be the issue. I have tried installing in few more dedicated servers but all same. I have almost 95% free java memory and 0% CPU usage.
Can you please tell me how to find root cause.
Thank you
I installed Openfire 4.0.0. Now When I try to login to Openfire's Admin Console I receive the below message after I submit my credentials. Would anyone have any suggestions?

how to update Openfire 4.0 to 4.1 on Windows?
Thank you.
Hi,
My scenario is as follows:
1. Corporate Ldap (OpenLdap) with field: telephoneNumber, cn, givenName, sn, etc.
2. Openfire 3.7.1 integrated with LDAP.
LDAP preferences:
ldap.usernameField = uid
ldap.vcard-mapping =
<vCard xmlns="vcard-temp"> <N><FAMILY>{cn}</FAMILY><GIVEN>{cn}</GIVEN></N>
<INTERNET/><USERID>{telephoneNumber}</USERID>
<FN>{cn}</FN> <NICKNAME>{uid}</NICKNAME><PHOTO><TYPE>image/jpeg</TYPE><BINVAL>{jpegPhoto}</BI NVAL></PHOTO> <TEL><HOME/><VOICE/><NUMBER attrs="telephoneNumber">{0}</NUMBER></TEL><TEL><WORK/><VOICE/><NUMBER>{telephoneNumber}</NUMBER></TEL></vCard>
The problem is that I can not get the telephoneNumber in vCards returned by the server.
The server debug logs:

¿Any idea?
Thanks
I've looked at all the other posts that mention this error and nothing seems to relate directly or fix the issue. Trying to select "Enabled" on HTTP Bind Settings, I get this error:
"An error has occured configuring the HTTP binding ports, check the error log for more details."
All other settings on the page seem able to enable/disable/change.
I tried going to Server Manager -> System Properties and manually adding various settings. Not sure if I got the names exactly right but I tried to set these:
httpbind.enabled: true
xmpp.httpbind.enabled: true
Under Log Viewer, the only HttpBind entries I see are (shows up in Error as well as Warn tabs)
at org.jivesoftware.openfire.http.HttpBindManager.changeHttpBindPorts(HttpBindMana ger.java:484)
at org.jivesoftware.openfire.http.HttpBindManager.setHttpBindPorts(HttpBindManager .java:448)

at org.jivesoftware.openfire.admin.http_002dbind_jsp._jspService(http_002dbind_jsp .java:136)
So not terribly useful information that i can tell.
I don't see anything else on the default ports (7070 and 7443) that might be conflicting.
I want to enable BOSH so I can maybe integrate a JS based XMPP client so I can get a Chromebox (ChromeOS) to connect to our XMPP/Openfire/Jabber server. Unless anyone has any good recommendations for ChromeOS-friendly XMPP clients (haven't found any so far).
Thanks!
Openfire 4.0.0 (but also happened before) always adds quotes to the names in our LDAP Base DN.
Example DN we enter:
ou=Container,dc=thing,dc=example,dc=at
Example output:
ou="Container",dc="thing",dc="example",dc="at"
When editing the LDAP Settings in the Admin console (Server -> Server Settings -> Profile Settings -> Edit), in the edit form, the Base DN is truncated to this:
ou=
Hello all, I know this is a question that has been presented a million times over, but I can't make any sense as to why my setup is not working.
KDC is a 2008 enterprise server
Openfire server is running on a repurposed Win7 machine.
I followed the guide found here:
https://community.igniterealtime.org/docs/DOC-2706
Initially, I set up the openfire on the same server as the KDC. Using the link above, I was able to get SSO working properly for windows 7 pc's. I did however, have issues with the AD binding, so I decided it would be better to run openfire from a different machine instead of the AD Server itself. I did a complete uninstall of Openfire from the server, and reinstalled on the windows 7 machine. I went back through setting up SSO with the guide above. And now I cannot connect, and I receive the general error of "check principal or server name." Looking at the error log, it looks like it cannot find my krb5.ini file; I verified that the file is in place, but the same error persists.
So far in testing I have verified that the GSSAPI settings were present in my openfire server properties, and added the xmpp.fqdn property and set it to the the FQDN of the openfire server.
I can connect to the openfire server without SSO.
I am running Openfire 3.9.3 with Spark 2.6.3.
Thanks in advance for assisting!

Hi,
Group sharing is not working on Openfire 4.0.1
I have Openfire 4.0.1 setup with OpenLDAP.
Users and groups in OpenLDAP can retrieve without any problem.
When I enable enable contact list group sharing, it does not publish to user's roaster automatically.
Group sharing is only working in Openfire 3.7.1. Version later than that doesn't work anymore.
Is there any misconfiguration I have done?
Thank you.
I am trying to upgrade a local OF to version 4.0.1 (and hazelcast 2.2) but during startup I sometime get this NPE:
2016.01.28 09:46:41 INFO [ClusterManager events dispatcher]: com.hazelcast.partition.InternalPartitionService - [169.254.80.80]:5701 [openfire] [3.5.1] Initializing cluster partition table first arrangement... 2016.01.28 09:46:41 WARN [ClusterManager events dispatcher]: org.jivesoftware.openfire.cluster.ClusterManager - Null value is not allowed! java.lang.NullPointerException: Null value is not allowed! at com.hazelcast.util.Preconditions.checkNotNull(Preconditions.java:41) at com.hazelcast.map.impl.proxy.MapProxySupport.putAllInternal(MapProxySupport.java:862) at com.hazelcast.map.impl.proxy.MapProxyImpl.putAll(MapProxyImpl.java:309) at org.jivesoftware.openfire.plugin.util.cache.ClusteredCache.putAll(ClusteredCache.java:129) at org.jivesoftware.util.cache.CacheFactory.joinedCluster(CacheFactory.java:738) at org.jivesoftware.openfire.cluster.ClusterManager$2.run(ClusterManager.java:95)
After some trial-and-error I discovered that this happens only when restarting my OF with active clients on it, the clients reconnects before OF hits this exception and I managed to catch this my debugger:
And there are some values from a cache named 'Locked Out Accounts' that has cached some NULL values and is causing the NPE later on.
If all clients are started after OF has initialized the clustering, this exception is not happening.
